René Char

René Char est le 14 juin 1907, à L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. Poète et résistant français, décédé le 19 février 1988 à Paris, il habita, de 1954 à 1978, rue de Chanaleilles, non loin de là où Gide avait vécu, rue Vaneau.


René Char, a French poet, was born in L'Isle-sur-le-Sorgue, France, on 14 June 1907. Between 1954 and 1978 he lived in rue de Chanaleilles, Paris, when he was in Paris; this was a few hundred yards from where André Gide had lived, in rue Vaneau. He died in Paris, 19 February 1988.
