Daguerre, inventor of photography, was born today in 1787

Louis Daguerre, né le 18 novembre 1787 à Cormeilles-en-Parisis (Val-d'Oise), mort le 10 juillet 1851 à Bry-sur-Marne (Val-de-Marne), est un artiste français considéré comme l'un des inventeurs de la photographie. Il est connu pour la mise au point du daguerréotype.
Louis Daguerre, born 18 November 1787, died 10 July 1851, is one of the fathers of photography. A street in Paris is named after him. A plaque in Paris shows where he invented and refined the daguerreotype, the first publicly announced photographic process, and the first to come into widespread use during the early 1840s.

Ici s'élevaient de 1822 à 1839 le diorama de Daguerre et le laboratoire où celui-ci perfectionnant l'invention de Joseph Nicéphore Niepce découvrit le daguérréotype.
Daguerre's diorama and his laboratory stood here from 1822 to 1839. That is where he refined Nicephore Niepce's invention, creating the daguerreotype.
