Bienvenue. Be welcome

SerendiParis is about serendipity and Paris, France. It is intended to be bilingual (au moins!).  Finding this blog may be your first serendipitous discovery today...

Pourquoi le français n'a-t-il pas de mot comme serendipity? Aversion au hasard?

One place in Paris was for me the embodiment of serendipity itself, and it was Shakespeare & Co. Its motto : Be not inhospitable to strangers lest they be angels in disguise. What else? Its warden and gardener, George Whitman (fr), died two months ago, aged 98 years and 2 days. In 2006 Whitman was awarded the Officier des Arts et Lettres medal by the French government for his contribution to the arts over the previous fifty years.

2. The fact or occurrence of such discoveries.
3. An instance of making such a discovery.
