Blanka Teleki de Szék est née le 5 juillet 1806 à Hosszúfalva, dans l'empire autrichien. Elle apprend la peinture à Paris et à Munich, ainsi que la sculpture à Budapest. Arrêtée pour avoir pris part à la révolution hongroise de 1848, elle est condamnée à mort, sentence ensuite commutée en prison à vie. Elle est libérée en 1858, et rejoint sa sœur cadette Emma à Paris, où elle passe ses dernières années au service des réfugiés hongrois. Elle y meurt le 23 october 1862, de cause inconnue. Blanka Teleki de Szék was born 5 July 1806 in Hosszúfalva, Austrian Empire. She first studied painting in Paris and Munich, as well as sculpture in Budapest. Blanka Teleki was active in the Hungarian revolution of 1848, and was arrested due to her support to the revolution and sentenced to death. Her sentence was commuted to life imprisonment, and she was released from prison in 1858. She then joined her sister Emma (1809-1893) in Paris, where she spent the rest of her life in Paris helping Hungarian refugees and activating to promote the cause of Hungarian nationalists.
